Death of the Checking Account

Do you have a checking account?
Do you still write checks?
Have you noticed the "we no longer accept checks" trend in many restaurants and businesses?
How long before there are no more "checking" accounts? Just curious.

I still write checks but have noticed the trend. Just last week the pizza delivery guy, from the place we have ordered from for years, said "We don't accept checks." I guess it is going the way of the rotary phone and $.25 arcade games.
In summary, Checks suck. Get with the times man!
I grew up in NY and never saw any businesses accept checks until I went to Minnesota! So I don't think it's that unusual.
