Test your _________ (fill in the blank)
Ok, not exactly sure what all this tests but it's really cool.
Check out Lumosity
is the brain fitness program designed by neuroscientists that is scientifically demonstrated to improve your memory, attention and processing speed.
There is a link where you can measure your Lumos IQ with a series of 3 tests.
An ex-coworker/friend/fellow blogger (bexhuff.com) turned me on to the site by reading his article here and now the whole office is competing.
I posted a pic above of my best scores from the 3 games. This was after about 5-6 tries on each game so don't worry if you suck at the beginning I did too. It takes a little while to get used to doing 2-3 things at the same time.

I enjoyed the link to these games, another site I think is great is the Brain Fitness Channel, bfc.positscience.com
It has some mind tests and tons of really useful information
I find these so call IQ tests quite dubious. Sure they are fun but they are more "skills" based than a measure of intelligence.
The birds test relies on your peripheral vision and ability to speed read subliminally flashed characters. I’m not sure what either of these has to do with intelligence. Maybe they throw in a version of hang man to make it seem like a real intelligence test?
The maze is a pretty good memory test and has good auditory queues added. Of the three I think this one is most closely associated with actual intelligence. The graphics could be better but what’s stopping you from simply marking the screen with post it notes or the like? (Does marking the screen make you smarter because you figured out a way to beat the system?)
The raindrop test is also a skills based game and am not talking about the intellectual type. (That’s a pun). You could be great at math but really suck using a number pad and utterly fail the test. You might as well call Wii Bowling an IQ test. I mean I wonder how well Steven Hawkings would do on these tests?
One last thing that bothers me about all three of these games is that they ramp up too quickly. This almost guarantees that everyone will fail at about the same point. The bird one is a good example of this, they start out with one bird that is very close to the center and no distractions. By the end of the second bird, all the birds appear at the outer edge and there are about 10 miscellaneous shapes thrown in to distract you. They go from easy to impossible in 1 level. How many people would play joust if the second wave was 20 pterodactyl’s that all showed up at the same time?
